Snoring is created by a skin flap flapping around in the back of your throat. Not fatal.

Snoring can also be a sign of sleep apnea. Do some research on obrstructive sleep apnea and that should help answer your question.

Snoring can be a sympton of sleep apnea, which can be fatal. Sleep Apnea is when you stop breathing during your sleep, and your body wakes up to regain breath. This happens many times a night.
